You gave Leah a home for Christmas

Leah’s life could have been so different without your support…

Thrown out by her parents, she was a shy girl with little confidence or self-esteem. She never dreamed that within a year she would be standing up in front of groups of young people, helping them to address issues of mental, sexual and physical health.

Finding herself suddenly homeless, Leah ended up sleeping on friends’ floors before she was put in contact with YMCA Norfolk’s emergency Nightstop service. She moved onto the Supported Lodgings scheme and was then given her own flat in YMCA MyPlace development.

Hearing about the opportunity to join the YMCA’s Young Health Champions project Leah went along to help. She started by going along, but gradually gained the confidence to go into different schools and talk to children about mental, sexual and physical health issues.

Your support makes a direct difference on the lives of vulnerable young people. It is thanks to your generosity that YMCA Norfolk can provide support and care… without you, it simply wouldn’t be possible.

Give a gift today, and ensure that no young person is left homeless this Christmas.
